THE VERDANT VALLEY ON THE KABANI

Perikaloor is a hamlet lying on the banks of the Kabani River 35 km away from its constituency head office Sulthan Bathery and 18km east from the district headquarters Kalpetta, the nearest township is Pulpally which is 6km away.

Pulpally

Its believed that the name Pulpally was derived from the Sanskrit word “Parnasala” which means “Hut made of Grass”. Pulpally is claimed to be a leech free village in Wayanad. Pulpally is just 10km away from Karnataka border.

Kabani River

Kabani is one of the 3 eastward flowing rivers in India joining with the Kaveri River at Narasipura in Karnataka. Kabani is the confluence of Mananthavady and Panamaram River at Kabanigiri.
