Skill Fest- 2017
The Skill Fest was inaugurated by Honourable MLA Mr. CK Saseendran at 8.30 AM. Wayanad DPM Mrs. Mercy Priya and all SDC in-charges were on dais. The fest came into full fledge by 9am.
First stall was done by Assistant Electrician course, Muttil and Perikalloor. Muttil batch prepared different wiring layouts on boards to explain different types of wiring methods like godown wiring, tunnel wiring, master switch wiring and hotel wiring. Respective students were explaining it well to the visitors. Different zones of the national power grid was illustrated. Power aspects of different home appliances were exhibited. The mobile charger designed by the students from Perikalloor was an innovative attempt as it can charge a smart phone 3 times using a single battery. The battery can be replaced and the cost of the product is less than 100 rupees. Electrician’s toolset was displayed at the fest.
The Data Entry operator stall was very informative. Charts displaying different innovations and different typing tips attracted the crowd. They arranged a gaming section to improvise the keyboard and mouse operations. They social message given by the students about the encroachment of social media in the teenagers life was thought provoking. Many teams participated in the talent hunt organised by them.
AC mechanic course students explained about the parts of an Air Conditioner, it’s working and common complaints faced. They could explain it in a much lucid way so that anylayman could understand. The LED students explained the benefits of LED lamps over the other types of lambs. The assemble procedure of LED lamp was also explained by the students and they give an idea to the visitors that even anyone of them can create the led lamps at home by purchasing the LED component kit from electronic spare shops.
The smartphone technician stall was biggerthan other stalls. They have displayed the evolution of mobile and different android versions apart from different inventors related to mobile phone technology. The dress code of the students increased the grace of the stall. The 3D screen made by the students created curiosity to the public and mobile phone projector invited attention of many. Different repairing tools used by a smart phone technician was displayed in the stall. Apart from that, the laser security system and smoke detector were a few attractions of the stall.
