SULTHAN BATHERY, THE LAND OF PARADISE

Sulthan Bathery, the heart of the heavenly district Wayanad is the only place in Kerala state which shares its border with two neighbouring southern states. Its topography interwoven with valleys, plains and mountains enchants everyone.

The place owes its new name to the erstwhile ruler of Mysore, Tipu Sultan. Closeness to the neighbouring states Karnataka and Tamilnadu and the pre historic caves dazzling streams and lush greenery of the undulating hills made Sulthan Bathery as the tourist hub of Wayanad.

Edakkal caves:

Edakkal caves situated at Sulthan Bathery can be reached by trkking the Ambukuthi Hill . The discovery of the caves dates back to 1895.

carvings that date back to the Neolithic era, the late Stone Age are estimated to be as old as 5000 BC to 1000 BC.
