SMILE CAMP

The registration for the camp started at 9 AM. Ms. Monisha was in-charge of registration and Ms. Nithya, SDE was at registration desk. The camp inauguration was done by the DPM, Ms. Mercy Priya. Mr. Muhammed Sabith A. S and Mr. AfsalMoosa were on stage. Vote of thanks was given by Ms. Monisha. After the function, a session on “Career Decision Making Skills” was started at 10 AM by Mr. Muhammed Sabith A. S and Mr. Afsal Moosa. The whole session progression was based on a story based on a boy. The students were made into 4 groups. Whole activities were among in these groups. Post lunch session was engaged with game-based activities. By 4 PM, the indoor classes were finished and is shifted to outdoor for the concluding session along with a treasure hunt activity. Post dinner, the students prepared a newsletter which was asked by the trainers.

The day started with a yoga session by Mr. Praveen. In one hour he gave brief iintroduction about yoga and made students to perform different yoga positions. Post-session, the newsletters created by the students were published. The day’s sessions were “Goal Setting for a Satisfying Career” and “How to Chase your Goal” and were handled by Mr. Afsal Moosa and Mr. T.P Jawad respectively. Dr. Jaikiran, Head - Curriculum and ASAP Wayanad District visited the camp and monitored the sessions. The activities given to the students helped them to find a career suited to each of them. By afternoon, the session was concluded and the students were taken to SDC Government College Mananthavady to attend the online aptitude exam. Ms. Monisha was in-charge of the same. Post test, an interactive session with a panel of experts, including professionals and entrepreneurs was conducted. This session helped students to identify different career options available for them. After the session, we planned different games and camp fire. Mr. Anish, PM in-charge of SDC GHSS Meenangadi and Ms. Jisha, PM in-charge of SDC GHSS Perikkallor were in charge of the camp fire and cultural activities.
