A scene from Nameless: Blood and Chains first on-screen appearance. I remember being excited and having butterflies in my stomach when I was on set and filming. As we wrapped up the shoot I walked away knowing that I had done everything and performed to the best of my abilities. From that experience I knew I had to build a stronger foundation, so I enrolled in an 8-week acting course. How do you motivate yourself? It’s such a competitive industry that you are in. What do you do to keep yourself going everyday? Having support from my girlfriend, family and friends has been the key. Knowing that they believe in me pushes me forward, because within myself I don’t want to let them down. Having the goals that I set which I need to accomplish motivates me, and thinking back to where I have started to where I am now makes me want to strive more. Is there a specific process you follow when preparing for a role? I don’t have a specific process that I follow, but I read through the script over and over again, to analyse the dialogue, the relationships between characte rs and settings. I then try to create a reenactment in my mind of how I would portray the scene and my character, and act on impulse based on my analysis. I would say I lean more towards the Adler approach to acting as opposed to other techniques. Now that you are back in Canberra after being on SBS PopAsia, what are your plans? Are you currently working on anything new? As I mentioned before, I have a few screenplays written that I would like to film this year. I’m also in the process of writing a script for a feature film, so a lot of my focus and dedication is going into these areas of my career. Canberra has quite a small entertainment industry, do you have any plans to move to another state in the near future? Being in Sydney co-hosting SBS PopAsia has really opened my eyes and has helped me realise what I need to do, and where I need to be. Canberra has helped me build a strong foundation which I can now stand on and be able to move forward in the right direction. For other aspiring actors and models out there, do you have any advice or words of wisdom to share that you have picked up along your journey? My advice would be to stop living “what if”, and to have at least said, that I tried or that I have achieved
