Interview by Emma Penelope Chan As I sipped on my latte awaiting the arrival of the newly-established yet groundbreaking Australian actor and model I couldn’t help but wonder – Is he going to be as handsome as his photos? The answer was surely quite evident as he casually walked into the little cafe and I spilled my coffee! Luckily for me, he has a very good sense of humour. Patrick made his way into the entertainment industry over a year ago, and at the young age of only twenty-three has already made his debut as a co-host TV presenter on national television. From his level of maturity and gentlemanly manner you wouldn’t think for a second just how young he is. The following Q&A was collected from our wonderful afternoon of coffee (I needed a new one seeing as the previous was now an added print to my shirt) and tiramisu. Consider it this way: you are about to read the opening credits of an exciting film career... How did you get started as a model and actor? I initially started out as a model when my sister organized a photo shoot for me to begin building a portfolio – those images were eventually posted on various social media sites, and from there I started getting messages from photographers and make-up artists wanting to work with me on some TFP (Time For Print) shoots. Once the ball got rolling in this area I built up more confidence to put my foot forward, and get into acting - which was my dream since I was little. I began joining different media groups online for castings and auditions. From this I met a lot of industry professionals who have had a big role to play in my successes today. If I have learned anything so far it’s that acting and modelling is the easy part – the hard part is getting that foot in the door in the first place. To be able to wake up every morning and push your limits, and be strong enough to go and fight for a dream that is so competitive, through auditioning processes and casting opportunities. Seems like you have it all sorted! You recently landed yourself on national television and radio. Can you share the story on that?
