9 Organ Recital Simon Lumby 13 October 4.30pm Keele University Chapel Entry £10 (includes a glass of wine) Friends of Keele warmly invite you to join them in a Keele welcome to charismatic organist and singer, Father Simon Lumby. Playing a programme that will range from works by Alfred Holins to Bach and Handel, Simon will join us to entertain and delight us with organ and voice. Simon studied organ with Andrew Fletcher in Birmingham, and singing with Robert Alderson at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester where he was studying on the opera course. The proceeds of the recital will go to the George Pratt Memorial Funds for arts at Keele, and directed to the Keele Chapel Organ project which launched this year in George’s memory. Programme to include Concert Overture in C minor – Alfred Hollins, first Organ Sonata (complete) – Basil Harwood, as well as works by Bach, Karg-Elert, Choveaux and Handel Keele Concerts 6 Hands: John Williams, John Etheridge and Gary Ryan 31 October 7.30pm Westminster Theatre, Keele University Entry £16 | £5 Student Free Entry for Keele Music Students and 16 and Under Having played together for many years, John Williams and John Etheridge have added the classical guitarist and composer Gary Ryan to their line up for a colourful and varied programme of solos, duos and trios, including pieces written by themselves. John Williams is a well-known classical guitarist with an interest in contemporary music, who gave one of first ever recitals in Keele in the 1960s; John Etheridge is an iconic jazz guitarist known for pushing the boundaries whilst Gary Ryan is a classical guitarist and composer.
