10 A Gift that Strikes the Right Note For the past five years, a generous annual gift from Kato Perlman has ensured that Sunday Afternoon Live at the Chazen has continued to fill Brittingham Gallery III with live chamber music on the first Sunday of the month except January. Dr. Perlman has made a remarkable commitment to continue this gift past her lifetime by establishing the David and Kato Perlman Sunday Dr. Kato Perlman Photo James Gill Afternoon Live at the Chazen Fund, with a future gift through her estate. This endowment will provide permanent annual lead gifts in support of Sunday Afternoon Live at the Chazen. A New Team Member Alyssa O’Connor joined the Chazen Museum of Art as facility manager in January 2019 after spending a decade at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art working in positions from preparator to facility associate. As facility manager (which is a new position at the Chazen), O’Connor is in charge of both of the museum buildings, providing a safe place not only for the art, but for all the Chazen’s staff and visitors. In her role, she loves being able to help people with what they need, ensuring that everyone who visits the Chazen has the best museum experience possible. “You never really know what to expect,” O’Connor says. “Sometimes you show up at 7:30 and there are ten people at the door waiting for you, and they all want different things.” But to her, that’s what is exciting about working at the Chazen. As a graduate of the art history department at UW–Madison, she’s proud to work in and manage the building where she spent so many hours during her college years.
