dear
I can hardly believe that
my first year as director of
the Chazen Museum of
Art has come and gone.
When I arrived in
Madison, I wasn’t exactly
sure what the next year
would look like, but I
knew that I would learn a lot! I have spent much
of the last year exploring and listening—meeting
new colleagues across campus, building
connections within the community, and visiting
friends of the Chazen near and far.
One crucial event was my participation in the
Wisconsin Idea Seminar’s “Big Lake Tour,” a
one-week marathon trip around the state of
Wisconsin. A UW–Madison tradition now in its
thirty-third year, the seminar takes faculty and
academic staff from across the university and
Bill Quackenbush, Ho-Chunk Tribal Historic Preservation
Officer, leads the first stop on the Wisconsin Idea
Seminar’s Great Lakes Tour.
