Worked at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Elected Fellow and former Foreign Secretary of Academia Europaea, Elected Fellow of the American Physical Society and a Founding Member and Honorary Vice President of EUROSCIENCE. Was the key advisor to the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences and then became a Deputy Minister of Science. In the period of 2012–2016, he was the President of the Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+, the largest new research and innovation infrastructure in Poland�co-funded by the cohesion funds.
