How has the festival changed
over the past few years?
Year over year the festival grows
in visibility and attracts more and
more artists from all disciplines.
Whereas previous festival submis-
sions were mostly visual artists- this
year there has been in an uptick
in performance art and other non-
traditional art forms which we are
really excited about.
Do you think people know much
about the Newark arts scene?
This is a work in progress. Every
year, more like is being shed on
Newark’s rich arts and cultural his-
tory and offerings, but many across
our state still don’t think of Newark
as an art city.
Newark Arts Festival creates a
window into the beauty, the tal-
ent, the culture, the warmth and
the artistry of Newark’s community.
Attending the Festival is a fun and
inspiring way for people to truly
get to know Newark.
