MPAC Turns 25!

Morristown’s Mayo Performing
Arts Center was built in 1937 and
originally named The Community
Theatre. Once the crown jewel
of Walter Reade’s chain of movie
theatres in the Garden State, it
had fallen into disrepair in the
1980’s and sat idle for nearly a
2019 FALL PREVIEW
decade. In 1994 countless vol-
unteers donated their time and
talent to rescue the theatre, which
celebrated its grand reopening in
1994. It is the 25th Anniversary
of that renaissance that is being
celebrated throughout MPAC’s
2019-20 season.
