the Jersey City Art & Studio
Tour Event Manager. She was
brought in by the city to help
the tour keep growing - ex-
tending its reach across Jersey
City and helping to bring more
people into the city to experi-
ence the tour.
“We get a lot of people from
the city, but we had people
coming last year from Teaneck
on down to Princeton and
Morristown,” said Penkrat. “I
bumped into someone from
Chicago who happened to see
an ad on a light rail and came
to check out the art tour. Peo-
ple are coming from through-
out North and Central Jersey.”
Penkrat encourages art spaces
ranging from guest studios to
art galleries and theatre com-
panies to register their events
with the studio tour website.
She also tries to get other arts
