Facts  It is an oil painting of Baroque style made by the painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo between 1645 and 1650.  It is located in the Alte Pinakothek of Munich, where it is exhibited in room XIII with the name of Trauben-und Melonenesser.  One of the most recurrent typologies in Murillo's work, apart from the religious painting, was that of the genre painting made with realism and great naturalism.  These paintings present mostly picaresque scenes with beggar children in various attitudes, such as children playing dice or the young beggar, and despite the misery they show, the painter manages to create an image of humanity and sympathy.
