ARTISTA - The Art Club of GNITS
Beginnings
Under the aegis of the
Lead India National Club
(LINC) GNITS, an arts
club named ARTISTA
was inaugurated on 25th
January, 2015 by
Chief Guest
Dr. I. Ramachandra
Reddy (Director, GNITS),
Guest of Honour
Shri P. Subba Reddy
(Chairman, GNITS) and
Dr. K. Ramesh Reddy
(Principal, GNITS)
synchronising with
Republic Day
Celebrations to
showcase the artistic
talents of GNITians.
The name ARTISTA is
derived from Spanish,
meaning a person whose
creative work shows
sensitivity and
imagination.
By urban dictionary, an
ARTISTA is a very spunky,
quirky creative female artist
who is deemed that title
due to her amount of
spunkiness, courage and
determination she lives and
relates life. Artista’s are
marked by being humorous,
outstandingly quirky, wild,
free and have unusual
amounts of joy in their lives,
perspectives, ideas and
art. The club was initiated to
explore this angle of the
future all- rounder engineers.
Artista organises Art
Exhibition called GALLERIA
-showcasing the various
art works of GNITS students
during the National Festivals
on Republic Day and
Independence Day.The
Galleria displays colourful
oil paintings, pencil
sketches, charcoal drawings,
glass paintings
thematic paintings
and art works.
Initial logo of Artista
portrayed the way the
ideas of students
were given wings as a
part of LINC
GNITS. Over the due
course of evolvement of
the club, the present
logo portrays Artista as
an individual club, with
great potential and
good support. It
represents the hidden
letters of Artista, it
represents our close-
knit art family, it
represents the
exceptional power of
imagination! It
represents the feminine
power to balance
life, like the 'T's yet be
distinct like the 'I', hidden
secretly as 'S', if given
chance to raise, will raise
like the 'R', completing
the larger 'A'bstracts of
life!
