Woodturning Intermediate

Continue to build your woodturning skills as you study bowl turning
techniques. Learn how to turn bowl forms using the bowl gouge, scraper, and
parting tools. Learn three techniques to mount bowl blanks using wood worm
screws, face plates, and mounting between centers. You will form projects
from both green and dry wood, as well as fashion a natural edge bowl.
Note: Students must bring a face shield and safety glasses to class (Z87+).
Prerequisite: Woodturning Fundamentals

Segmented Woodturning
Instructor: Gerry Jensen

This intermediate class will introduce students to the basics of segmented
woodturning design and construction, including determining dimensions of
segments, learning various methods of cutting and truing up of segments,
assembling and stacking rings, and turning a bowl. Registration fee includes
wood for a bowl project and use of all studio tools.
