Overall the film was very good and well-acted by Chiwetel but also by Michael Fassbender
who played very accurately how a plantation owner could break
down and desire a black girl working for him. The story line was
very well and alternated between highs and lows giving you a
glimpse of hope for Solomon to destroy that hope a moment
later. In the end he does get home and finds his wife, son and
daughter well and he even has a grandson called Solomon.
Solomon Northup wrote the novel in 1853 and later on helped
people out who were in the same position as him. I really
enjoyed the film and think it is a good thing that they made it to show the wrong doings at
the time and remind everyone that we should not let that happen again and keep working
for equality.
