but also an extra aid. The dancers are all
wearing white which to me gave the
meaning of innocence and like if the
dancers were non-invasive. On the
background they played the movie which
made the piece extra dark, showing the
destructive force human beings can be and
currently are which impressed me. The
bench meant something to me as well. I
think it stands for the basis of life. During
the performance the dancers return to the
bench quite a lot making it the main
location for the choreography. In this case I
think the bench stands for the nature and we should all return to it. The music was well
chosen and some of the movements were sync with the music. This made it for me easier to
understand the piece and is also a very clever choice in my opinion. This way they make
ballet, and modern, more accessible for everybody. Also this performance was more the
modern side of the ballet which I do tend to enjoy more. The flowing, going on of the
movements gave the piece coherence and it never got boring due to the fact that something
was going on, on the stage at all times.
As a whole I enjoyed the evening. I like dancing anyway since I do it myself- though a very
different kind- which made that I already was a bit more open minded than with for example
the opera. And I must admit that through for example ‘So you think you can dance’ I did get
to like other styles of dancing like modern, ballet, ballroom etc. more. But a few of these
choreographies made me want to get some modern classes so it did influence me.
