By: Marilyn Medina

Music could be one of the things that moves generations to feel free to express themselves and be who they really are. Furthermore, music masterpiece can be beautiful to listen, but how hard is to write a song? Everybody can write a good song, but not everybody is able to create really good masterpieces of music. Writing a song can be a really difficult task to fulfill, but if a song is written by heart, expressing all your inner self; then, it will involve the listeners making them wanting more of it. If you feel frustrated because you do not know how to organize your feelings and ideas, the following tips may guide you to, at least, start arranging your mind and words.

1-Choose a title for your song.

Think on the purpose or the topic you want to write about and then create a tittle. The fact of already having a title will guide you to keep on writing about that specific theme and not deviate from the matter. According to the writer Cliff Goldmacher a good advice would be to “capture the feeling and emotion of your concept. You obviously felt strongly enough to want to write about this idea, so immerse yourself in it and really tell the story.”

2-Brainstorm ideas or feelings about what you want to express.

Start writing whatever that comes to your mind, your feelings or about what you want to say to someone. As a guide, do not forget to remember the tittle you wrote in the first step.

3-Make sentences with the ideas you wrote.

Build your own story. If you feel comfortable, think on something or someone you want to write a message, and try to confess the feelings you want to express.
