One more example I have of form is “Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh and the song “In the Wee Small Hours of The Morning” by Frank Sinatra. The painting and the song both make people feel sleepy and calm like listening to a lullaby. These two have a much different form than the previous match with Bob Dylan and Eric Lacombe.

Now I’m going to choose one of my paintings that I have made, and try to find a song that fits the form of my painting. The painting I chose has a peaceful feeling because there is not much movement going on. It’s very still and makes the viewer feel calm and reflective. The song that goes with this is “Girl from the North Country” by Bob Dylan that I made a cover of. The form is the same because there are only about four chords repeating throughout the song and it conveys the same emotion as the painting.

Form is one of the most important things about art; it’s what makes people feel something and that is how the arts are so powerful.
