Timeless

By Andrew Minchella

Music has been around since man first walked the earth. It has evolved as we have evolved along with new technology arising throughout each century. It is the most universal form of art and communication in our world, no matter your race, age or religion music is able to relate to people like no other art form. The many purposes and messages within music is something which allows people to enjoy it whether or not they are a musician themselves. It plays a major role in all of our lives, it is versatile and does not age in any way.

Music is in our everyday life whether or not we notice it or not. There is no need to be a musician in order to enjoy music, we see it in everything, most notably sports. Sports and music now go hand and hand, I don’t think there is one athlete out there who does not have their own pregame play list. Kendrick Lamar and his latest album titled “D.A.M.N” was all over the sports world, his song “HUMBLE” was the song for ESPN and their NBA Match up promo for all of last year. Not only was that song big for adults and the NBA players but it also transcends down to the youth as it was played frequently at my high school football and lacrosse games. Music is the greatest medium of communication out there it is timeless and unbiased. The weight that it carries in unmatched and the number of people it reaches is as well. Music is something which outlives its creator, gracing the ears of people for generations and generations, even after the face of music has been rearranged. Sam Cooke and his music has been alive and well for many years, continuing to entertain people even
