intention itself is already a response to
a past experience. Even an artwork
based on the lack of emotion carries
the emotion of apathy. I strongly
believe that art is not made in a
vacuum; rather it is part of a very
human experience. Therefore in my art
I want to expose this indisputable
relationship between human
experience and our seemingly abstract,
non--‐human artwork.
Like everything else, colour is part of
the improvisational process. Depending
on the moment of choice I may pick a
colour that I am drawn to, a colour that
I hate, a colour that ruins the painting,
or a colour that finishes the painting.
My palette is basically limited to the
particular set of pastels or paint that I
bought in the art store. I am not the
type of person who envisions a specific
colour and searches everywhere for it
or creates it by mixing other colours. I
most likely squeeze paint from the tube
directly onto the canvas and mix it
