If there is curiosity triggered from viewing the
work, I hope it has encouraged more than just
some personal satisfaction. Externally its relation
to the thoughts of the viewer is what counts as
knowledge. At the same time, it might also be
unaccomplished, as many doors are left open to
speculative judgments’. It’s important, for the
work to have a narrative that is separate from
other forms of language while the symbolism can
have a shared meaning. This makes it essential
that I participate in others experience of the art;
in my studio as well as in any exhibition to learn
what they think about it.
The pressure to produce a lot of work is daunting,
as each painting may take anywhere between 1
to 4 months to finish. Precisely because the
subjects I refer aren’t understood by many, I
think the traditional use of oils on rectangular
canvases has still not been exhausted. There is
no finality to the visual relation of time to gravity,
as their oppositions belongs to a dialectic.
There is no way I can know for certain how my
work will evolve. In part I presume it depends on
how successful I become. Obviously with more
money I can dedicate more time to the work and
the research to develop its concepts.
