triggered my emotions a lot, since I wouldn’t want anyone to experience such a horrible situation as the one in the arena of the Hunger Games. I also thought that the movie war very well directed and filmed. It seemed extremely real and everything was caught from several camera positions which gave me a clearer view of the situation and surroundings. Moreover, I thought that the differences between rich and poor were a bit too big. There was no middle class which existed in every society. This is a bit unrealistic, which made the movie a bit less good. The Hunger Games were created to give the poor layer of society a bit of hope. A nice quote from the movie is: “The only thing more powerful then fear is hope”. The President said this to the organiser of the Hunger Games. It shows the way regimes rule. By giving their population a bit of hope to avoid a revolution or uprising. I haven’t been really open minded, because my friend and my mum already told me where the movie was about. This made me a bit prejudiced, because everybody told me the movie was really good, so I expected it would be amazing as well. During the movie I was really curious about how it was going to end. You never want to stop in the middle of a movie, but when my mother or me had to get to the toilet or got something to drink I really wanted to start the movie again as quickly as possible to see what was going to happen. I changed my mind a bit during the movie, because it wasn’t what I expected it would be. The special effects and filming were even better than I expected which was a big plus. I would recommend everybody to watch the Hunger Games, because it is such a good movie with really good en interesting themes, amazing special effects and filming and really good acting. People who don’t like harsh things such as killing, blood and hunger should close their eyes during those parts of the movie, because the rest is fantastic as well. Ramon Klein Velderman E5A
