Artist’s statement
Dennis Miller is a graphic designer, typographer, and typefounder. He
has taught at the University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin–
Whitewater, and at several universities and colleges in New Zealand,
Australia, and India. Prior to shifting the focus of his career to teaching, Miller worked in corporate communications for design firms in
Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and London.
His efforts as a graphic designer and typographer have been recognized by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, American Center for
Design, Type Directors Club, and Icograda. Examples of his exhibition
designs, annual reports, corporate identities, books, posters, and typefaces have also been published in Communication Arts, Print, and Graphis.
Miller’s recent work combines collage, installation, and typefounding. It has been exhibited in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United
Kingdom, France, Czech Republic, Belgium, Germany, Greece,
Turkey, India, China, and throughout the United States.
