Traditional Bridges - Arguably the most common type of dental bridges , traditional bridges are made up of a ceramic or porcelain material that is joined to a metal . The dental surgeon normally uses two abutments to receive the artificial teeth or tooth .
Cantilever Bridges - These types are used for areas that do not require much work . An example is the frontal teeth . Although they look more like traditional bridges , they are attached to one side of the mouth .
Resin Bonded Bridges – This type of bridges are not as strong as the common traditional bridges . They are mainly used to replace the loss of teeth which occurs at the front of the mouth . In this method , the artificial teeth are first bonded with metal which is later fastened to the abutment teeth with the aid of a resin cement .
