From the Publisher Dean Cameron Dealing With it All I, for many years, had a job where I carried the stress home with me every night. There were a lot of people who depended upon my success at my job and I took it very seriously. I was also aware that I needed an outlet to de-stress. I enjoyed the outdoors, but it was too infrequent to be a complete solution. This is where my passion for art collecting came in. I immersed myself in the work of the artists. Their thoughts, inspiration and creativity captivate my imagination. I realized early on that this passion took my mind away from the stresses that once filled my thoughts. It is not one style or genre that creates that space. I gravitate to the artist’s creativity or story in their work. My home looks like you took 25 artists works and shook them up and poured them out on a table. Abstract, Impressionism, Realism, Western, Contemporary, Portraiture, Sculpture, Glass, Fabric. Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic, Graphite and more. I am likely an extreme case (as many of my friends say) but I can tell you that the creativity and the personal story each piece gives me helps me through times like we are dealing with today. The moral of this story? Take some time away from the stresses of today and find yourself immersed in the “art of loving artwork.” Meet the artists, ask questions, and buy a piece or two or three that will help your mind wander away from the negative and into the creative talent and peace that their talent can bring to you. May you all find an outlet for peaceful thoughts, Dean 4 ART CHOWDER MAGAZINE
