Parker has remained busy as an artist ever since but admits calling himself an artist is still somewhat strange .
“ Saying I ’ m an artist is kind of nervewracking . It ’ s nice being an architect , having an architect ’ s degree and license . I can say I ’ m an architect . It doesn ’ t matter if I ’ m practicing or not .”
That fact is , however , Parker has been an artist his entire life ; winning multiple awards and different competitions throughout his younger years . While in middle school he was the youngest artist allowed to participate in a public art event utilizing fiberglass bears . He and his dad worked together on the project .

“ Dad painted the big bear , and I painted the little bear . It was an amazing experience because it was all done in this big warehouse they called the Bear Hotel . They created cubicles for 30 or more artists , so to be 13 years old and be next to all these professional artists doing all levels of fine art in different media and styles , was super fun and influential .”
All of those influences , from his parent ’ s love of nature , his love of architecture , and the inspiration drawn from mentors and other artists have refined and defined Andrew Parker ’ s amazing talent . Keep your eye on this one , and if you are lucky enough to see his work , move your nose close to the canvas . You don ’ t want to miss any details !
