“ At shows , nobody wants to pick up your stuff . Perhaps they are afraid they will break it . If people pick up my stuff and it breaks , then that ’ s on me . I pride myself on construction . When they pick up something of mine , there is a tactile thing that happens . Then I can see in their eyes if they are going to buy it .”
Tim opens his home studio , Alternative Fired Pottery , every year during the Boise Open Studio Cooperative ( BOSCO ) Art Tour , happening this year on October 2 , 3 , 9 , and 10 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm . More details are available at boiseopenstudios . com . The public is welcome to visit each home studio , talk to the artist face-to-face , see their wares , and hopefully buy something . He has also participated in an event called “ Art and Roses ,” which supports the rose garden behind the Boise Art Museum .
Tim ’ s work is at Mossy Creek Gallery , located on the Oregon coast near Lincoln City . He has also been represented in a small gallery outside Eagle , Idaho . Tim has an online store with Etsy ― Tim Murphy Pottery . He encourages people to come back from time to time since his inventory is always changing .
