A COLLABORATION KEEPING OUR AUDIENCES ENCHANTED

We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming performance of George Bizet’ s magnificent classical opera, Carmen, co-produced by the Spokane Symphony and Opera Coeur d’ Alene. We are beyond fortunate to have Eckart Preu, Music Director of the Spokane Symphony and Jadd Davis, Director of Carmen for Opera Coeur d’ Alene, collaborating on this production.

Planning an exceptional September performance, they will infuse energy and relevance to Carmen, the story of the downfall of a naïve soldier who is seduced by the wiles of the fiery gypsy, Carmen. What a fabulous way to strengthen the ties of our Spokane-Coeur d’ Alene communities— through a fine musical and artistic collaboration which enhances the arts experience for us all!
Eckart Preu, Music Director of the Spokane Symphony and member of the Spokane community since the 2004-2005 season, is celebrating his 14th year with the Spokane Symphony. This 2017-18 season also marks his tenure as Music Director with the Long Beach, California Symphony Orchestra. In addition, this summer he begins his position as Music Director of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra.
Jadd Davis, Director of Carmen for Opera Coeur d’ Alene, leads a multifaceted career as an actor, singer, director, producer, educator, and public speaker. For much of his performing career he was based out of Seattle, where he played leading roles on most of the major musical theatre stages. He co-directed last year’ s Opera CDA mainstage production of The Barber of Seville and this year’ s“ Opera-Tunities” tour of Pinocchio.
