Many of Nora’s compositions are from
memory and not photographs. “I get
my reference from emotion. Art evokes
emotions in me to understand life more
— how our past intertwines with the
future and circles back.” She also paints
in nature as a reference, not plein air
style, because, “The camera can’t capture
everything.”
A good portion of Nora’s work is
completed in her art studio. Though her
Facebook page displays links to song
favorites, music does not play in the
workspace. During fair weather, the
window is open for the sounds of nature
to fill the room. “Art taught me to slow
down in nature.”
