this event offered each of them the opportunity to create new friendships and to network with one another , share ideas , learn , and enjoy the comradery of peers who share the love of painting outdoors .
A wonderful cadre of talented artists participated . Cindy Gillett , an awardwinning and signature-status pastelist from Meridian , Idaho also works in other mediums such as gouache and oil . Her work represents the realism style of art — rich in color and design . Sue Martin , a multimedia artist from the Salt Lake City area , often works in nontraditional styles of plein air painting , using oil and cold wax in developing beautiful winning landscape studies in an abstracted fashion . Laura Gable from the Tri-Cities of Washington , is a seasoned plein air artist working in the traditional sense of impressionistic painting of landscapes . Her award-winning oil paintings are works completed at several plein air events from Montana to Colorado and locations in between . Sue Tyler , a painter from Tetonia Idaho , is an art educator whose medium of choice is acrylics , rendering beautiful , abstracted interpretations of the Western landscape .
