“ Friends Are Friends Forever”

An

artistic life

well lived:

Dian Zahner

Often times, we may take for granted those who make an impact in our community. Dian Zahner was a doer. Dian has had a gallery presence in Spokane with Avenue West Gallery for over thirteen years. That takes tenacity! Her stalwart support for the arts community in Spokane exemplifies that same dedication.

Many may not have personally known Dian; however, I can say with certainty that almost everyone will have been touched by her in some way— be it a piece of artwork seen from one of the artists she helped promote, or the successful events and programs she volunteered her time to support. I have known Dian for a short five years. I have filmed a television show in Avenue West Gallery( Dian was the founder) and recently I have been working with Dian and other Artists / Galleries to create an association to better promote the arts in the Spokane region … it’ s just like Dian to be right in the middle helping!
Art Chowder would like to celebrate the impact Dian Zahner has had on so many people. We feel the best way to do that is to hear from her friends. The following people are artists who have known Dian and worked with her side by side. Who better to share with us a little of“ Dian the Doer”?
