The lady will look at the poppies, the
guy will be standing there wearing a
t-shirt that says something like “I <3
muscle cars.” He won’t look at my art.
So I’ll start talking to him like, “So you
like cars huh?” We start BSing about
cars, or whatever, for about twenty
minutes and the next thing you know,
he wants to buy one of my old truck
paintings. Mainly because there was a
connection made.
There’s a whole psychology behind this,
and if you are there to sell art you need
to know your audience.
As for canopies, you can buy a good one
or a bad one. If you are just dabbling
in this art show thing then yeah, buy a
regular canopy. If you are serious about
making a living at this, invest in a good
one, and the equipment you need to do
this well.
