REGIONAL REPORT SPOKANE VALLEY ARTS COUNCIL After twelve Artist Showcase Art Auctions and with help from the City of Spokane Valley through their grant programs, six more bronzes have been purchased.  Currently we have three more bronzes in production that have been paid for. The city and its citizenry are enjoying our art leadership without having to fund a department dedicated to art in its many forms. Three bronzes are currently installed in the space around the new city hall. Another bronze, located on the grounds at CenterPlace Regional Event Center, is named Dance of the Sun and Moon. A bronze by sculptor Bob Wilfong will be placed in the newly-designed space next to CenterPlace. SVAC also maintains a 22 to 25-piece art exhibit on display in the lobby at CenterPlace. The exhibit changes periodically, and includes both living and deceased artists. The remaining bronzes, currently in storage, will be located at Balfour Park and other city park locations. The Fourteenth Artist Showcase Art Auction is scheduled for October 10, 2020. This great cultural and entertainment event is composed of dinner, a live auction, a silent auction, and a quick draw where you can watch artists finish work that will then be sold. All participants are full-time, nationally-known artists who come from eleven states and Canada. May | June 2020 63
