T
he Coeur d’Alene Arts & Culture Alliance invites you to experience the creative
process firsthand at the 7th Annual Coeur d’Alene Artist Studio Tour. Free to the
public, the tour will be held from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday,
June 9. It affords the opportunity to visit 17 working studios of painters, sculptors,
jewelers, potters, glass artists and textile artists, spread out from Hayden through
Coeur d’Alene and into Post Falls. More than 30 artists will be showing and
discussing their work, often while working on new pieces and demonstrating their
unique style.
An open studio event provides an opportunity for artists and craftspeople to reach
a broad audience, to educate their community and ultimately develop new markets.
During these events, the general public is invited to view the artists’ studios, see a
wide variety of work and become personally informed about art processes, materials,
and the creative spirit. This personal contact gives art lovers a new appreciation of
the work that goes into a finished piece.
