Anime is typically translated or derived from light novels , which is a style of novel directed towards middle and high school students , video games , or manga , and you can ’ t discuss anime without delving into the exceptionally diverse world of manga .
Manga has a rich history dating back to the 12th century and translates into “ comics ” or “ cartoons ,” with “ man ” meaning “ quick ,”
