Patti also states that she rarely intends the infusion of whimsy , surreal , or absurd . She rather sees her experiences and curiosities in images and in attempting to solve the visual elements in each piece , the other just seems to occur . However , there are times , she admits with a chuckle , that it is very intentional . She notes that her more recent work has a distinctly opinionated narrative while also intentionally claiming the absurd . Her 2018 “ Cloud Bank ” series takes on the perceived dystopian state she feels the world finds itself in . It openly satirizes Donald Trump and his administration . “ The older I get I just don ’ t care . I ’ m pretty angry ,” she laughs . It appears the inner rebel has found her voice ( fingers ) and at 82 years old , is not yet singing her swan song .
