Vincas Greene, a Cheney, Washington resident, was first introduced to dance by
a competition set to steel drum music at Expo ’70. Though he watched numer-
ous episodes of Great Performances: Dance in America, he became inspired by
Beyond the Mainstream, which featured excerpts of modern dance trends and
interviews with choreographers.
“Dance is the physical manifestation of passion, and dancers are
vessels. We become so full of passion it leaps out as dance, love,
and art. No wonder the world sees us as sensual because our life is
communication made physical.”
