I n March 2014, Rush was invited to submit artwork for the poster for Rodeo de Santa Fe. Her painting, AMERICAN RODEO: It Always Begins With A Prayer, was selected. For her, the greatest benefit was the pass that gave her full access and permission to be up close and photographing the action at the rodeo. She ended up with thousands of images of bulls, broncos, barrel racers, etc. “I was in my element. I even had the fun of hanging out with a couple of the stars of Longmire during the rodeo.” Having worked with the cast for three seasons, their presence was like watching the rodeo with family. Rush’s western cowgirl art will be featured on the Priefert roping chute(s) at the Women’s Pro Rodeo Association finals in October 2019. Priefert manufactures heavy steel tubing gates, fencing, round pens, and stock chutes for rodeos across the country. The works of art are wrapped with vinyl banners of varying sizes. When Rush inquired how they had heard of her work, she was told they had followed her for years through social media sites. As for the question about what type of art she has not produced to date, the answer is: sculpture. “I would need my three dimensional art to be vibrant with color.” Rush purchased some gemstone beads for her birthday in April, so a sculpted work incorporating turquoise, lapis, and jade may be forthcoming. Only those who follow her on the below social media links will see what works of art Rush has in store for the world. Nothing has stopped Rush from experiencing life and she has countless more works of art in multiple mediums yet to create and share. www.rushcolefineart.com https://www.facebook.com/Rush-Cole-Fine- Art-192568447464906/ https://www.facebook.com/Rush- Cole-ArtistAuthorPhotographer- Books-342489902450892/ https://twitter.com/ButterflyArts July | August 2019 27
