Mediterranean fruit salad . Four cups of grapes . Check . Four cups of strawberries . Check . Sugar , lime , fresh mint . Check . Orange blossom water ... I can ’ t recall the actual measurements . As I open the bottle of orange blossom water , a world of memories opens up , combined with sounds , smells , images , tears , and pictures of a forgotten past that hasn ’ t resurfaced in a very long time . Too long . These emotional memories are hitting my soul , just like my mom ’ s hand caressing my cheek did when I was a kid , a reminder that everything will be OK , if only I can remember who I am and where I come from .
