s Lynn’s expertise and
technique gathered acclaim
and momentum, his marketing
strategy was becoming as
individualistic as his creations.
He owned three funeral hearses,
and realized that by driving one
of them to concert venues which
featured guitar superstars, he
could easily access restricted
security areas and personally
show off his craftsmanship
to them. On every occasion
they would put their hands into
their pockets and immediately
hand over cash to secure one
of Lynn’s guitars as their own.
That was the very scenario with
guitar legend Eric Clapton,
who fell in love immediately
with his prized Lynn Ellsworth
original.
What makes Lynn’s original
guitars so very special and
so sought after? To state
that Lynn’s craftsmanship
is meticulous would be an
absurd understatement. His
uncompromising attention
to every minute detail is
reflected in the unparalleled

Lynn insists that it’s the choice
of material that can crucially
make the difference between an
average to good instrument and
a truly exceptional one. Lynn
has developed a uniquely fine-
tuned ear to literally “listen” to
pieces of raw lumber and assess
the “ring” tone by tapping on
them, not unlike using a tuning
fork.
