Art Chowder: How long does your average project
take from planning to execution?
helen: My projects typically take about three
months from start to finish — at times much longer.
Part of the processes I use to get a desired effect
can become monotonous so I tend to bounce around
from project to project until one by one they are
completed. It can be difficult to calculate even the
physical hours invested in any one piece. Concepts
can take many months to develop or sometimes
overnight. Materials usually have to be sourced
out of the area so that can take time as well. I’ve
learned over the years not to try to control my
progress too much and just let it happen organically.
In the end I feel it makes for better results.
