Somatic Approach to Contemporary Dance
Technique, taught by Karla Parbon of Gonzaga
University Dance Department
Intermediate level will challenge students
through complex warm-up exercises that en-
courage strength, flexibility, and improved
body awareness with an emphasis on the
body’s relationship with “contract and release”
movement vocabulary. Students will explore
various inversion combinations and inspiring
floorwork to implement in the choreographic
process. Karla and Suzanne Ostersmith, Di-
rector of GU Dance Program, are excited to
announce the Mark Morris Dance Group, per-
forming in opening concert for ACDA North-
west Conference, March 11-14, 2020 — on
Gonzaga campus!

Inland Northwest Dance Association as part of
DanceFest 2020 on Saturday, March 7th. Par-
ticipate in the raffle of items displayed as you
enter Lair Auditorium, for fun baskets and great
bargains in support of the entertainers! Enter-
taining groups include Country Swing LLC,
Dance Time Theater Company, Gail’s School
of Dance, LiteFeet, Phase Collaborative Dance
Project, Silver Spurs Youth Folk Dancers and
Stevens County Stompers.
