T
here are exceptions, but rarely do bands write and record
music before performing it live. Venues allow for collabora-
tion and experimentation, which is the ground floor of music.
Currently Spokane has a vibrant, high quality, centrally lo-
cated family of venues that serve a wide range of styles and
genres. The Red Room, The Big Dipper, The Bartlett, Baby
Bar/Neato Burrito, House of Soul, The Knitting Factory, The
Washington Cracker Building, The Fox Theater, The Bing
and The Observatory are all within a few-mile radius of each
other serving a huge demographic of artists and music fans.
Not only do we have a lot of great venues, but we also have
the most all-ages venues of any city in the Northwest.
