ersatility with flexibility has definitely become the name of Hot
Club of Spokane’s game, because this band employs a very large roster
of accomplished artists covering a wide spectrum of instrumentation
and vocal configurations that they can draw upon. Essentially, the band
can be “tailored” in a bespoke fashion to suit the nature of any show’s
particular musical presentation, or even the size of the venue physically.
Indeed the Hot Club has on one occasion consisted of simply Garrin and
an accompanying guitarist performing an evening of light acoustic jazz in
a small intimate setting, whereas on many other occasions the band has
easily expanded to well over a dozen performers at larger venues! Garrin’s
ideal core choice lineup would be an eight-musician band including an
assortment of horns, piano, percussion and additional guitars to suit the
musical arrangements — not only to present a bigger, fuller sound — but
also to offer more local musicians work and opportunities for them to share
their talents.
One venue that’s particularly ideally suited for Hot Club of Spokane has
become a firm favorite for both audiences as well as for the band, and
that’s The Bartlett on West Sprague Avenue in downtown Spokane. This
cozy, mid-sized venue is designed with a relaxed approach to a simple,
comfortable and classic atmosphere complete with a bar and refreshments.
The spacious stage, tasteful colored lighting and well-balanced room
acoustics are a perfect fit for this band and their specialized brand of
music. With the exclusion of holidays, Hot Club of Spokane hosts various
live concert evenings at The Bartlett every second Tuesday of each month,
and every show features a different musical theme, flavor, or “gumbo
recipe” as Garrin likes to call it!
Hot Club of Spokane can also be seen performing their live shows at
individual concert venues and festivals in and around the Spokane region.
They have also performed at Spokane’s signature Pig Out in the Park
annual food-fest, and the band was particularly thrilled to welcome along
New Year 2018 in fine fashion at “Ella’s Secret New Year’s Eve Party”
at the Montvale Event Center, downtown Spokane, along with a packed
house full of spirited revelers and music lovers.
Hot Club of Spokane is readily available for private hire to perform at
your function in any of their very flexible configurations and themes.
