A
perfect example of
that is her piece entitled I
Will Show You. Two Sioux
warriors appear ready to
do violent battle — and
perhaps they will. On the
other hand, maybe the more
experienced one is teaching
the younger the finer points
of combat. Again, too much
detail would have written the
end of the story; just enough
detail suggests but doesn’t
arbitrate.
“I learned this from my
training with Phillipe
Faraut,” Sonja relates.
“He is a brilliant teacher,
author, and sculptor who
emphasized complete
understanding of form,
structure, and movement. It
is his work I always return to
when I’m trying something
new or experiencing a
roadblock.”
