Additional resources available to guild members include a library of books that are free for any member to check out , some lapidary and metal smithing equipment , along with various other tools and equipment . They also receive the opportunity to take part in a joint booth at many events around the Inland Northwest . Much of the equipment and many of the books in the library are specialized and can be a challenge for independent artists to even find on their own , much less invest in , so the communal setup and regular programs allow many members to try out things they ordinarily would never think of or realistically be able to access .
