behind the camera ,” Clift said . “ So that means that it took a hundred years for that to happen and because of not just our work working on the show , but the work of activists , artists and creatives who worked for a hundred years to get us to this position where society is ready for this , that I was able to play small part in that kid getting not just Native representation but Cowlitz representation on the screen .”

When people watch the show , Clift wants them to know that a bunch of Native people greatly value the opportunity to make one of the first truly Native-created kid shows in U . S . animation history , creating a show that they wished existed when they were growing up .
