6oSpokane’s
BEST PIZZAS
By Chandler Anderson Baird
Happy has five letters… So does PIZZA. Spokane is a pizza gold mine. Our city is
full of local, unique, and passionate pizza creators that make their dough by hand,
blend their house-made sauces, fire them up fresh, and bring smiles to so many of
our pizza-loving faces.
Chandler
moved to
Spokane in 2014
without a rain coat and
with
extremely low expectations. Since then,
she has fallen more
in
love with Spokane
every day. As a native
Texan, she was raised
on Tex-Mex and smoked
BBQ and she isn’t afraid
of the heat, whether
in her food or in the air.
When she is not exploring
Spokane’s food scene, she
can be found exercising,
shopping, or binge watching
“Parenthood” on Netflix. Her
obsessions include guacamole,
Labrador puppies, and diet Coke
with pebble ice.

THE FLYING GOAT | REPUBLIC PI
611 E 30th Ave, Spokane, WA | 509.863.9196
WHAT TO ORDER: D” STREET | CORA | DALTON
The Flying Goat and Republic Pi are tied because they have the
same owners and a very similar pizza menu. They specialize in
Neapolitan pizza with eccentric flavors that work. They have this
pizza creation down to a science. The Flying Goat is a Spokane
Classic and it was voted best Pizza in Spokane on the Spokaneeats.net poll. When out-of-towners ask me where to get a low-key
dinner with their family, I always send them here. Republic Pi is a
newer location on the South Hill near Manito Park with amazing
appetizers and great lunch options. I would recommend the Brussel sprouts. They both wood fire their pizzas creating that nice
smokey flavor in the crust. For those non-pizza lovers, their salads
are really special and unique, too.
